It has now been 1 month and 10 days since my last post. I find it interesting that as soon as I actually have things I should be writing about, I no longer have the time or energy to do so.
I’ll use tonight as a fresh starting point, and maybe at some point I’ll be able to fill in some of the giant gap leading up to today.
Today. April 29th, 2011.
Slept in a little, took my Spanish oral interview, stared at the teacher while he did conditional probability or something to that effect, stopped home, wrote a letter to Alex on an 8x10 negative, went to Geo, went to work. The 2nd MFA show went up this week and i just got to see it for the first time. Willy Wonka-esque talking playground and hanging crocheted rock forest type thing. It was lots of fun, so I ended up closing the gallery a little early. Derek was coming to pick me up at Regis at 7 so had to close in order to have some play time before he got there. But when he did show up, he joined me in playing in the installation for awhile. We started planning to camp in there, so maybe we can ask Mary and/or the artists during the reception tomorrow. After that, we headed over to the reuse store to pick up my teacups and his welding mask that we couldnt get last time…2 weeks ago? Probably…I’ll add that in as a post on that day later on. I love the reuse center. So many ideas and inspirations come out of that place. I came home after that and helped Steph with a design project over pizza before getting deeply involved in a conversation with my newest pen pal. I still cannot tell who he reminds me of, except maybe Zach D.
My life is very interesting, and currently the phrase in my head is:
When it rains, it pours.
April 23, 2011.
Stephs parents were in town, so we ate dinner with them at The Local downtown.
Then went over to model for Derek’s project, and things got interesting when Adam got involved in directing, as can be seen below. I think the photos actually turned out beautifully, though. We decided to go to the ADM Mill first thing in the morning, so we took naps around 3am. I slept in Arielle’s bed, listening to Adam talk to himself in his sleep.
Slept. Ate. Read.
Finished watching the “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” series, watched Prince of Persia, made some dinner, then Jared joined us for a trip to Sebastian Joes.
Slept. Ate. Read.
Went to see Limitless in Rosedale, which was actually pretty decent, though it made me feel like I’m not quite living up to my potential…
Happy St. Patricks Day!
Returned to the MiniApple today, after a few last good runs at Lutsen this morning. I’m pretty sure I managed to somehow screw up my left shoulder, though, falling awkwardly or something. I don’t remembering it happening but I can definitely feel the result. Passed through Duluth on the way home. Such a unique area, lots of character, but the people looked significantly more depressed and uninteresting. They had a Great Harvest, so obviously we had to stop for lunch.
So proud of the snowboarding improvements over the past few days.
Here’s a bit of the view of Lake Superior from the top of one of the mountains. It legitimately looks like the edge of the world.
Still in Lutsen, visited Grand Marais,
and resisted buying the “Turtle Quiltscape” puzzle.
Still in Lutsen. Decent start, but sore.
Learned to play Euchre?
Headed up to the Lutsen Mountains for Spring Break.
Worked all day, then went to see “Inside Job”
It broke my heart.
